Good Seed Sunday
In celebration of Earth Day weekend, a group of volunteers from The Place came together to tend the gardens of this beautiful little piece of land right around the corner from Grace Lutheran church!
This community garden is maintained by a lovely, welcoming group of volunteers from the Rockland Neighbourhood Association that appreciated having a few extra pairs of hands from our congregation to help.
We hope to make this a recurring service project so, stay tuned for more opportunities to get involved! If you have any questions or are interested in getting involved, contact email@example.com.
Easter Sunday sunrise service at Gyro Park!
On April 16th at sunrise, we celebrated together with Hollydene Community Church the central miracle of our faith - the resurrection of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. This continues our Easter tradition of music and joyful worship at Cadboro Bay’s Gyro Park.
Following the surise service, our congregation came together for a delicious community breakfast potluck at Grace Lutheran church.
Time (Sunrise Service): 6:30 am
Syrian Refugee family is here!
The Victoria Welcome Collective (VWC) is so excited to tell you that our sponsored refugee family from Syria arrived on September 21! This family of five (mom and dad and three boys, ages 8, 7, and 3) fled their old home in Aleppo after it was hit by a shell and have been living in Turkey for over a year, waiting for news of where they will be able to resettle. The VWC has been working with the family’s Syrian relatives already living here in Victoria to find and furnish a basement suite, register the children for school, and make arrangements to help with this family’s transition into life in our city. We thank God for the opportunity to love and serve our sponsored family and their relatives here in Victoria and ask that you pray with us for our new Syrian neighbours as they settle in to a brand new life here.
